A reader sent us the following captioned photo:
Started out virgin asphalt at the end of the day we have this. History has been made |
The photo was reportedly made Sunday in the Rogersville Industrial Park. History? We see damage to a road built to entice new business.
Let's be clear here, no one who blogs for us lives in Rogersville. In other words, no one has a personal interest in the success of this industrial park. A concerned Rogersville citizen has sent us this photo...and several more. It's hard to believe that the authorities don't know what's going on; we assume at least some in the police department condone it.
If you live in Rogersville and you want this illegal, juvenile behavior stopped, you have to speak up. If you don't want it stopped, you might as well start keeping tabs on scrap metal prices since that's where these spec buildings are headed.

And from a reader in Muscle Shoals:

Live in Florence? Do you know your municipal district candidates? Now's the time to start your research. Much more to come!
Since you didn't know this has stretch of road has been rented and was legal..
ReplyDeleteA spokesperson for the city has said it was NOT.
DeleteWe have good authorities here in Rogersville police fire etc.so if u are not from here don't worry about what we do take care of yourselves an this would be a much better place to live
DeleteYour facts are invalid..check your sources
ReplyDeletePolice and EMT were on site. All proceeds went to he city of Rogersville
ReplyDeleteYet officials from the city deny all knowledge of it? It's possible, but why would they lie?
DeleteIdiot
ReplyDeleteThis is so typical of Rogersville. Some stuffy person letting no opportunity go to complain about something so trivial. If a business decides to go somewhere else because of some marks on a road that was far from virgin, then they probably didn't want to be here too bad any ways. This was actually a pretty exciting thing for a lot of people, let's try not to ruin that.
ReplyDeleteSo are murders. You selling tickets to one?
DeleteWow, just wow. Lol
DeleteWould be quite nice if you had any info as to what actually was going on there.. Instead you wrote about something you know nothing about and end up looking like a moron.
ReplyDeleteThey are probably denying it because it's part of a TV show and are trying to keep it quiet because they are going to Dilma there again....and yes police were paid by said company to be there and it was in fact 100 percent legal....that is all you need to know
ReplyDeleteIs it hurting you, harming you, or on a road you paid for? NO!!!! So, shut up and quit trying to shut down nothing you have any concern with. All you do is sit behind your computer and complain about everything on God green Earth! And it doesn't get you anywhere! How about write about all these crazies running the streets shooting at cops, killing cops, shooting at bystanders, shooting up houses and cars, and killing themselves? Why dont you write about getting God back in schools, Government, or everybody's lives? Stop worrying about all the small stuff like what these guys are doing, and worry about things that matter!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice if you understood that, should you write us about your neighbor with the pig farm in the city, we would try to help you even if we couldn't care less about such pig farms. We don't care about drag racing, but a reader did. We tried to help this reader...plain and simple.
DeleteAs to God in schools? You do realize that if you have prayer to God, you must also let those pray to Satan who may wish to? Writing about crazies? We do that also from time to time. The next time we do, we expect you to come to our aid when attacked by the family of the crazy man who has a good heart and is really just misunderstood. How about it?
How much is the going rate to rent a road? Is it by the mile? This would make my commute to work much easier if I was only one that had use of it.
ReplyDeleteProbably pretty cheap in Rogersville.
DeleteI believe u pro ally could not afford it
DeleteI know the chief of police in Rogersville and I'm confident that this WON'T NOT have gone on unless it was legal. The entire police force in Rogersville is top notch. I understand you TRYING to help a reader, but just because someone takes a pic of something that they don't like doesn't mean they need help spreading rumours.
ReplyDeleteJust going to place this here to shw it was legal. http://www.demitv.com/#!ACTION-PACKED-DRAG-RACING-REALITY-SHOW-LAUNCHES-FILMING-IN-NORTHERN-ALABAMA/cpwv/5716ce670cf25351a37b842f
