Ronald Weems at Limestone Correctional Facility

Ron Wikkid Weems has been processed and placed at the Limestone prison facility near Capshaw, Alabama. He will have an appeal hearing on August 5th.

The Weems case never ceases to amaze us. Colbert County District Attorney Bryce Graham stated he could find no grounds to charge Weems with Capital Murder, even though a case could surely have been made for attempted rape based on testimony from others who viewed the body.

Ashley Greenhill had several prior convictions, one of them for a violent crime against her own child, but wasn't tried as a habitual offender. Matt Fox and Laurel Pruett faced only two charges each. If they had been charged with and convicted of three separate felonies they would have then been in danger of a life sentence should they ever commit another felony. Wasn't there evidence for at least a theft charge in Pruett's case? 

Now we're confronted with an appeal hearing from Weems and his attorneys. Yes, Ronald Weems will be returned to the Shoals and again have the opportunity for better food and family visits. Let's hope it's his last visit. Amanda's family deserves more justice than what has so far been meted out.

Neighbors of Laquania Weems state she has relinquished custody of Ron and Laurel's daughter to a nephew. The child's situation seems to be going from bad to worse. We know several have contacted DHR over the past year or so concerning this child, but nothing has been done. At this point, it seems as if everyone is waiting for the next clown shoe to drop.

Ron Wikkid Weems: A Good Father?!

Laura Wise, aunt of Ron Wikkid Weems, aka the Wikkid One, called her nephew a good father. Really? He has at least five children by three different women, only one of whom he was married to. He didn't work, but preferred to have the Salvation Army provide for his children. He's now out of the picture, leaving his youngest child with his mother, a woman who allowed the child to be sexually abused. Yep, he's a great father.

As for Weems' mother Laquania, she's still maintaining her son's innocence...when she's not trying to cast spells for protection. Laquania seems to be a few nuggets short of a Happy Meal.

Colbert County District Attorney Bryce Graham has stated there was no basis for a Capital Murder charge against Weems. Really? Since witnesses testified that his victim Amanda Taylor was naked from the waist down, it would hardly have been a stretch for Graham to have also had Weems indicted for attempted rape. That's all it would have taken to make the charge a capital offense. We doubt the jury would have questioned the charge.

Now Weems will be up for parole at some point. He won't make it any time soon. Let's hope he never does.

Please Help Save Pandora

The mature woman walked around her house, uttering quiet phrases, and seemingly pleased with herself. Why? According to neighbors, Laquania Welch Weems, mother of Ron the Wikkid One, was casting a spell to protect her granddaughter Pandora.

Perhaps a little more vigilance and a lot less voodoo hoodoo is needed in this situation. Mrs. Weems, who has already raised a layabout philandering murderer, is now attempting to raise his daughter while the child's parents are in prison. So far, it's not going very well, if Muscle Shoals Police reports and various friends are to be believed.

Pandora has already been sexually molested by a "friend" of Laquania. Yes, we know his name, but we have been unable to determine what, if any, charges this man faces. Yes, we're using Pandora's name since it's common knowledge in the area. We're hoping DHR will take the child and place her in a new family where she'll receive a new name. So far they haven't.

This from a regular reader: I have called DHR three times about Pandora. Is there anyone (in) the Shoals area that has connections with DHR that can persuade them to remove this child? She has already been molested in her Grandmother's care.

We also have contacted DHR via e-mail. So far the child remains at Weems' Muscle Shoals home. If any readers have any contacts with Colbert County DHR, please use them to see that this child is placed in a safe environment, preferably a permanent and stable home with parents who genuinely care about her and not some check she provides.

We've had some requests to comment on this blog, but were waiting to see where it was going. Apparently it's died down and isn't going anywhere any more. So far it's been pretty nice to almost everyone it's discussed (several of whom we've never heard of), so we'll comment.

Where is Laurel Pruett's Money?

We've seen the question asked on Facebook, and now we ask it also. In October 2011, Laurel Pruett received almost 11K in back child support in the form of a check mailed from Montgomery. When it arrived at her previous address, a home she had shared with Ron Wikkid Weems and his mother Laquania Weems, Ron appropriated the check with the assistance of his future victim Amanda Taylor. It's been reported that Amanda probably took no more than 2K in order to pay some fines, allowing her to be free to move to Arkansas with her children.

What happened to the remaining 8K? Weems had no mortgage or student loans. He may have had an auto loan on what he called his wikkedmobile (don't you know his mother was proud of him). How easy would it have been for Ron to have spent the 8K in the two months before his arrest?

Drugs aren't cheap, neither are tats or props that go with a life of cosplay. It's certainly possible Weems spent the entire amount. It's also possible the remainder of the money remains in his family--with the one Moss Avenue resident who wasn't charged.

It seems Pruett was also sent a replacement check once the original was reported stolen. So perhaps we're looking at close to 20K that may be in the hands of one for whom it was never intended--a very good motive to assist in helping with a cover-up. Yet an innocent child still lives with this person. DHR has so far not acted on allegations of abuse. Perhaps because she has no money to filter through the court systems? How sad for the child.

A Child in Danger? Yes! - Part II

Mark Davis has now spent years trying to regain 50% custody of his daughter, custody the Tennessee courts gave him. Not only is Mark confronted with a huge uphill battle, he is now concerned about the moral character of two of his daughter's caregivers--his ex-sister-in-law and her fiancee'.

We use the term fiancee' since the couple present themselves as engaged, even though Alabama does not recognize same sex marriage. Also, Mark's sister-in-law continues to advertise for new relationships on Pink Cupid, a popular Lesbian hook-up site on which she has two profiles. We understand that many same-sex couples have lived monogamous lives for years, but this particular couple would not seem to be one of them.

 

Mark is also concerned about the presence of alcohol and other drugs in the home of these two women. If their Facebook page is so open concerning their use of such drugs, how much more is present in their private life? What does Mark's daughter see every day?

Desperate for a chance to present this evidence in court, Mark filed for an emergency hearing. As we've recently heard from others, the word "emergency" in Lauderdale Circuit Court apparently doesn't mean what it does to the average citizen. Faced with the inaction of local courts, Mark decided to take a bold step.

Tetter & Ron: Mental Evaluations All Around?

Content Warning: Screen shots of threats from Tanisha Tetter Welch, Ronald Weems' first cousin, have been censored for publication, but still contain graphic wording and imagery.


Yesterday we introduced you to Tanisha Tetter Welch, mother of two small children, niece to Laquania Welch Weems, and a wanted woman in Colbert County. Tetter (bottom photo), as she is called, has stated that her cousin Ron Wikkid Weems (top right), confessed murderer of Amanda Taylor, is her best friend. Early in May she announced on a social media site that she wanted to kill herself, but later renounced the idea after receiving a letter from Ron in which he told her everything was going to be all right. Shortly after that optimistic pronouncement, Ron's attorney asked for a mental evaluation of his client.

While we don't doubt both Ron and Tetter have mental problems, both know right from wrong--that is the standard by which they will be judged--Ron for Felony Murder and Tetter for Misdemeanor Harassment. While Tetter has threatened more than one individual, many of her rants have been directed toward one person, a person extremely close to Amanda and one who has done much to ensure there will be justice for the murdered mother of three.

Just what has Tetter threatened? Looking at the message to the right, it would appear that violence was her intent, or at least what she wanted her victim to believe was her intent. The mention of more "clowns" in her family is quite telling.

Do we think the Insane Clown Posse played a part in the murder of Amanda Taylor? No, not in any real way. We do believe Laquania Weems abdicated her responsibility to her son many years ago and gave him over to what's come to be called a thug mentality. It would seem that her sister accomplished the same with Tetter.

Both were, for their age, overly enamored with the hip-hop group and, yes, to at least some degree became immune to the violence portrayed in the songs. Note Tetter's use of a hatchet wielding juggalette as a Facebook icon. Tetter has even used one of ICP's videos in an attempt to frighten one of her targets.

Our sources tell us Tetter is also wanted in Franklin County on charges that will take precedence over the harassment charges facing her in Colbert. No matter what awaits her in Russellville, we hope she will be held accountable for her threats to others.

If anyone else has received similar messages (and we know at least two others have), we urge you to send copies to Kyle Brown of the Colbert County District Attorney's office. He can instruct you in the best way to file charges. Tetter Welch needs help, but she won't get it unless she's held accountable.

We strongly believe in supporting family. Well...in most cases. Pictured above is Tanisha Tetter Welch, known to friends as Tetter. The niece of Laquania Welch Weems and cousin to Ron Wikkid Weems, Tetter has made it a point to contact anyone supporting Ron's murder victim or her family. In case you think Tetter has been reaching out in kindness, think again.

Not only has Tetter been communicating with these individuals via Facebook, she has recently taken to visiting at least one of Amanda Taylor's family at their place of employment. We'll be publishing screen shots of some of these less than cordial missives tomorrow. They will require some editing to cover up language, but--warning--they will still retain some words not used in Sunday School.

Tetter has described herself as "two people." While she obviously doesn't know the meaning of schizophrenic, this is a quote from her Facebook page: I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other, and when I am alone I am together.

Perhaps she finds it easier to defend herself if she can blame some alter ego for her rants and rages. Then again, perhaps she is genuinely mentally ill; she has stated in the past that she wants to die. Ostensibly, she's depressed that her cousin's murder trial will begin during her birthday week. At this moment, it doesn't matter. What does matter is that this mother of two is wanted in Colbert County.

One of Tetter's victims swore out a warrant for her on Friday. So far, Tetter has eluded authorities. If you know Tetter Welch's whereabouts, call 256-383-0741.

Misguided at Best: Two Prime Examples

John Doe is quietly shopping in a big box store. From the next aisle, hidden from his view, he hears a man speaking on a cell phone. He's not intentionally eavesdropping, but he's close enough that it's impossible not to hear. The other shopper has had business problems, and no solutions have so far worked. The only option he feels left to him is the murder of the owner of Acme Widgets, his chief competitor. John Doe peers around the corner and sees a man wearing a polo shirt inscribed with his name and the name of his business. Is this some joke Joe Bleau is playing on unsuspecting shoppers? What does John do?

Meanwhile in an alternate reality, John Doe is leaving the big box store when he runs into his friend and neighbor Joe Bleau. Joe tells John he's having business problems and is planning to murder his chief competitor. What does this John do?

We're betting the two Johns acted completely differently. The John in the first scenario probably called the police, while the second John probably attempted to persuade his friend to reconsider. If his friend went ahead with his nefarious plan, we're betting John testified that Joe had been under so much pressure he no longer knew right from wrong. Which John acted in the best interest of society?

The moral of the tale is that friends and family either cannot or choose not to see the faults of those closest to them. This is natural. This is also why friends and family of the accused are not allowed to sit on his/her jury.

We have the deepest sympathy for those whose children have chosen a wrong path and have disappointed them. That does not mean we will defend those children. Neither does it mean we will overlook the crimes of these children as long as their family continues to spout vicious and hateful words against the innocent they irrationally feel have wronged them.

As long as these people maintain their Facebook pages claiming ownership to a child that is not theirs, we will continue to post arrests, trials, and sentences. This is not dredging up old news. They manage to keep the news quite current all by themselves.

* This scripture reference, although from the Old Testament, holds a valuable truth for us today. If a man fathers children with someone to whom he isn't married, he can't expect to have any role in their upbringing.

While Bailey was filling in for us, she commented that Laquania Welch Weems no longer had a Facebook page. A friend of Laquania has sent us a link to a private page belonging to Weems, mother of confessed murderer Ron Wikkid Weems. Here's the photo she is currently using (Oh, and someone please buy the poor woman a blouse).

Neighbors say that Laquania has had medical problems, but is still maintaining custody of Ron's child with Laurel Pruett. It was revealing to read on Laquania's social media site that she and Ron moved from Leighton to Muscle Shoals in order to shelter Ron's three children from violence. Somehow we feel they failed.

Bailey's Advice: Throw Them Out

If you read the news from around the country, you know a 74 year-old grandmother outside Detroit has been charged with killing her 17 year-old grandson. This lady was "raising" the boy after his parents divorced and moved out of state. His friends say he was no trouble maker, but he was in an alternative school and police had been called in when he attacked his grandparents before. Why was the grandmother arrested? She shot her grandson eight times. There was a similar case in one of our neighboring counties recently, but it was the boy who killed the grandmother.

The interesting thing to me is that almost all commenters on the shooting stated the boy should have been with his parents in the first place. I agree, but many parents fall down on the job and grandparents are the only hope for them. Unless of course one shoots the other dead.

I wrote about Laquania Weems yesterday. When Ron Wikkid's youngest child (that we know about) is 17, Laquania will be 73. A reader wrote that the little girl may turn out well after all, and she may. She would have a much better chance of turning out well if Laquania would give her to the state to be adopted. After Ron and Laurel Pruett are convicted, they will have no say so in what happens to the child.

If Laquania does keep the girl and she turns out like her father? Well, for starters, catering to her every need and allowing her to live off others isn't going to solve the problem. If Laquania Weems had thrown Ron Wikkid Weems out when she first realized he was a druggie and an abuser, he just might have shaped up and Amanda Taylor might be alive today.

Should a parent defend their child? I say that depends. I just published a comment from someone who questioned why this blog did an article on Andrew Scott's latest arrest. I would think it was for those who kept pushing for Andrew to take his "biological child" away from its parents. This is something that Andrew's parents still support. Wake up, Mr. Scott. The best thing you can possibly do for this young man is to let him sink or swim on his own. 

You bailed him out the day he was arrested, didn't you? Three or four days in jail might have opened Andrew's eyes. Now he can continue to feel used and abused by society. If you don't get him some help, this won't be his last arrest.

Laquania Welch Weems is Guilty

Laquania Welch Weems is guilty. How guilty is anyone's guess. Yet the Muscle Shoals police have never charged this sorry excuse for a mother with any crimes. At least she's as guilty of hindering prosecution as Laurel Pruett, Matthew Fox, and the chillingly cruel Ash Lette, the stripper with the axe.

She at least feels some shame since she has taken down her Facebook page. That was after she had updated it with a photo from the 1970s, complete with cowgirl hat and a red heart frame. Of course, we may be giving Laquania too much credit. Let's look at her accomplishments.

She is a widow who doesn't work. She was happy to take in her grown son, who also didn't work, but relied on the Salvation Army to help with his kids' Christmas. Not to mention she took in any woman who caught her son's fancy, and that was apparently plenty. All the while, her grandchildren lived under the same roof.

Did she raise Ronald Wikkid Weems to be a murderer of just to be a loafer who lived off society and spent money intended for his kids on himself? She obviously had no problem when Ash Lette (legal name Ashley Greenhill) chased away a visitor with her axe. That's chased away as in threatening with a lethal weapon. Nice folks, huh?

Now she has Ron's child with Laurel, getting state money for her. Not only have the police not arrested Laquania, DHR hasn't taken away the child. So now she can raise Pandora Pruett as she raised her father. That's some moniker the little girl has, so in twenty years or so we can be sure to spot it when the product of Laquania's raising starts her own rap sheet.

Actually we think Laquania likes all the publicity. She even showed a television crew around the basement where her son killed his victim. Think she's an Agnes Scott graduate? Some people don't need painting with what Shoalanda calls a white trash brush--you can see and smell their lifestyle a mile away without any help from prosecutors or defense attorneys.

Should those convicted of Second Degree (Statutory) Rape be placed on the sex offender list? I can't see that these men, or women, are in the same class as those who force someone to have sex.  "The Connection" is currently compiling a list of those who have actually abused others while committing their crimes. Ashley Fawn Greenhill Indicted

Ashley Greenhill, aka Ash Lette

Ashley Fawn Greenhill has now joined Ronald Wikkid Weems, Laurel Pruett, and Matthew Fox (Fudoshin) as one of the accused in the Amanda Taylor murder case. A Colbert County grand jury indicted Greenhill, who uses the stage name Ash Lette, for hindering prosecution and abuse of a corpse. 

Sources say the stripper from Killen remains in the Muscle Shoals jail with bail set at 250K. Sources further stated Greenhill has not been transported to the Tuscumbia City Jail, where Colbert County's female prisoners are housed, in order to keep her and Laurel Pruett separated. Both women were sometime girlfriends of Weems, and Greenhill turned in the other three in an effort to avoid prosecution.

We may now wonder why Laquania Weems, Ron's mother, was not similarly indicted and arrested. Perhaps the grand jury felt a mother's love is blind?

Deal for Ashley Fawn Greenhill? - Part II

At around 3:00 p.m. on October 17th, Robert D. Lee arrived at the home of Ronald Weems to pick up Amanda Taylor. Ashley Greenhill, aka Ash Lette, was sitting on the front porch with Ron's mother Laquania Welch Weems. In her hand was a hatchet that she began to wave over her head in a threatening manner. Greenhill told Lee that sometime after Taylor arrived at the Moss Avenue home around 1:20, she had attacked Ronald Eugene Weems and was no longer at the residence. Lee, fearful for his safety, left the premises. It's good to know Ashley's Juggalo props can pull double duty.

On November 7th, Ashley Greenhill reported to police that she had overheard several phone conversations in which Weems and Laurel Pruett discussed the murder of Taylor and the subsequent disposition of her body. Greenhill stated she was in fear of her life and had shortly thereafter moved out of the Muscle Shoals home she was sharing with the Weems family. Ronald Weems then made his enigmatic Facebook posting in which he called Greenhill a "roach."

According to Laurel Pruett's confession, Ashley Greenhill and her friend Matthew Richard Fox joined Weems and her in the basement of the Moss Avneue home around 10:30 p.m. on the night of the murder. A friend of Fox, aka Fox Fudoshin, has stated Ashley Greenhill texted Fox and asked for information on the best way to hide a body. Fox had ostensibly never met Weems before that night, and Greenhill was the only link between them. We're going to assume Fox now wishes he had never met Ashley Greenhill.

Other sources have stated that after Greenhill looked at Amanda's corpse, she walked upstairs to smoke weed and take Valium while waiting for the safety of nightfall. Fox's friend and co-worker Luke Stanfield stated he has known Ashley Greenhill for approximately ten years and has never known her to be a truthful person. We may infer Stanfield's opinion is correct since she certainly offered several colorful tales to explain the injuries she and her boyfriend inflicted on her then two year-old son.

Yet, Ashley Fawn Greenhill is not in jail with her friends. We have to ask why. What kind of deal was the Brooks High grad offered? Life isn't fair, and neither is death. The enormity of this gruesome murder is mind boggling. If Greenhill isn't prosecuted for this crime, the would-be model will undoubtedly be prosecuted for something else down the road.

An attorney for Kimberly Bynum appeared in Franklin County court this morning and waived a preliminary hearing during the arraignment process. A pre-trial date for the former Vina High School teacher will be set later this month.

Why Were Taxpayers Supporting Ronald E. Weems?

Ronald Eugene Weems told friends he had a heart condition and couldn't work. Disability records are confidential, so we don't know if Weems ever actually received any SSI payments. Our guess is that he didn't. At the time of Amanda Taylor's murder, he was involved in an appeal of his disability (Disabled Individual Worker). So how did Weems survive?

By sharing a home with his mother, he seemingly had free rent and built-in child care, assuming Laquania Welch Weems was also absent from the work force. Those who have commented privately to us have stated this was the case.

Others have commented that Weems took excellent care of his children. Apparently such care was not without the aid of the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. Did you notice the words "mobile Facebook posting?" Yes, it seems Weems was using a Droid phone to make posts from whatever important places and events he may have visited during the day. We apparently missed the section in the Constitution guaranteeing 3G communications to all citizens. If you want it and can afford it, go for it. Otherwise, don't ask taxpayers to fund what many don't have themselves.

That also goes for tattoos which we understand start at around $100.00 for a small work and are never recommended for indiviuals with heart conditions due to risk of infection. We have to wonder how many of our taxpayer dollars went to purchase Weems' November tattoo...but what the hey, there's always an Angel Tree to provide for his three children.
Who has Weems' phone now? Are we still paying for it? We know that Ron Weems' mother has custody of at least one child, the daughter of Ron and Laurel Ann Pruett. How is she spending the taxpayer dollars that we have provided for this child or these children?

Just as Jay Leno hates stupid criminals, we at Shoalanda hate the misuse of our tax dollars. If you want to make sure the children of Ronald Eugene Weems are cared for properly and have a secure home, we ask that you contact the Colbert County DHR office to request they expedite their supposedly ongoing investigation. Our tax dollars should support Alabama children who have no one else to do so; they should not buy Android phones for murderers.

Second Person of Interest in Amanda Taylor Disappearance

Sources with Muscle Shoals Police last night reported a second unidentified person was taken into custody in connection with the disappearance of Amanda Leeth Bailey Taylor. Taylor, missing for six weeks, was last seen at 609 Moss Avenue in Muscle Shoals. Ronald E. Weems, Taylor's former brother-in-law lived at the residence with his 61 year-old mother Laquania Delores Welch Weems (pictured). Ronald E. Weems, taken into custody early Tuesday, is the ex-husband of Brandy Leeth.

Taylor's three children now live in Arkansas with her first husband Andy Bailey. Daughters Ashton, 14, and Autumn, 11, and son Alex, 7, have not heard from their mother since her disappearance and are extremely eager for any information. If anyone can shed light on her whereabouts, they're encouraged to call Muscle Shoals Police at 256-383-6746.
