Scottie Leon Davis is an East Florence resident who, judging by his Facebook profile pic, loves his dog. His family says that he's a really good guy who's made some mistakes in life, mainly involving drugs.
In May of this year, Davis was arrested on misdemeanor drug charges. He was sentenced in Florence Municipal Court and assigned to work at the city recycling center to pay his fines and court costs. Then last week Mr. Davis failed a drug test and was placed in the Lauderdale County Detention Center.
Monday was Scottie's 38th birthday. We're not sure what kind of celebration he was anticipating while incarcerated, but in all probability he didn't expect to leave the jail on a stretcher. Davis is now in Huntsville Hospital; the hospital won't give out patient information at this time, but Scottie's family says he's fighting for his life.
According to family, Davis has a severe head injury, two broken hands, and other assorted injuries. They've been told that Scottie fell in the shower. In case you're not a CSI fan, broken wrists are often associated with a fall, but not hands. Scottie Davis' family wants answers.
Some things come to mind here. Mr. Davis is important to only his family and to God. No matter Davis' social status, we're pretty sure God is not happy if Scottie's family's suspicions are true. Yes, the jail is overcrowded beyond belief. Our sheriff has asked for help with the situation and has so far gotten very little from our county commission. Jailers aren't paid much, so don't expect them to be the cream of society either; rumors of employee initiated violence are common.
We're wishing Mr. Davis the speediest recovery, but that's not looking good right now. Let's all say a prayer for both Scottie and our county, shall we?
I've known Scotty for the most part just about of his life. He was one of the kindest & sweetest persons I know. He didn't deserve wat happened to him, or no body else deserved a beating like that.
ReplyDeleteOur so called police dept. Should try to find out who done this to that boy and charged with attempted murder as of now & put away for life!! Let's just wait and see who if anyone in that jail gets blamed for what they done!! Love and prayers Davis family.
I know Scotty. He is a good dude that makes bad decisions. But i wonder why there has been know media coverage of this. Oh wait i know he's not the right color to get better ratings.
ReplyDeletePrayers for Scottie! Despite the drugs/drug addiction, he is a VERY sweet soul. He has NEVER been a trouble maker compared to others in this town. He has always been a quite and caring person. If someone did do something to him, I can't imagine what for because I know he is NOT the type person to run his mouth to anyone;he doesn't like conflict, but at the same time, he isn't going to let just anyone degrade him either! I really hate this and I will keep u in my prayers Scottie! Prayers also for Sondra Davis (Scotties mother) Steven Davis (Scotties father) & Shannon Davis (Scotties brother). Y'all are in my thoughts and prayers.

ReplyDeleteIt's been pointed out to us. We're very sorry he has upset Scottie's family and hope Scottie is improving. As to why, several have discussed it. One by one this man has become upset with us, but as to the exact why we don't know. He often points out that Trader is part of us, but he is not. Trader was at one time a Florence police detective, and we believe he arrested OB when he attacked his first wife. That's all we can figure out.

ReplyDeleteScottie I'm praying for brother and it's time for justice,for him and his family...I know Scottie for awhile he's a good guy,never in my life..it's time for change..with all this happening at LCDC...seems like the since last year I'm always hearing about someone getting hurt,just treated like Animals....wish you all the best
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Scotty. My son was also jumped in jail.. when he got jumped the just put my son in lock down.. when the two guys jumped him. After been in lock down for a few days they released him on a ankle bracelet. When he got to leave the jail . I took him straight to the hospital. ECM said the bones around his eye was broke.. but then when he was referred to a facial specialist. The facial specialist told him his bones around his eye wasn't broke that the bones was shattered.. when the bones shattered. They also messed up a nerve that controls his feeling to his teeth. His teeth feel numb. From the nerve damage this was back in the end of 2018. He has medical bills stacked up in my kitchen from the hospital and doctor's.. I don't understand why the ones that did this to my son hasn't been locked up for it. Nor why they aren't responsible for paying for his medical bills. Plus he's still suffering for it has a chance of losing his vision. The facial specialist said most of there patients are from the jail... Where's my son's justice at. We have been looking for an attorney that would take his case. But nobody wants to go against the jail. Nor the ones that done it. Where is my son's rights and justice ? So I am so sorry for Scotty, his family ,and friends

I'm Scotty's cousin\sister I was raised with Scotty & I can tell u that the guard who had let Joey Kyle & Ryan Green & Adam Miller in his cell needs 2 pay double 4 letting them nearly kill him I honestly believe that they were thinking he was already dead when they dropped all his charges and released him 2 Hunstville hospital cause they done that samething happen 2 my Uncle Jerry in "2005" except it was the Supervisor that done it & his wife was the nurse and his daddy was a hall guard but my Uncle died & that same Supervisor had beaten 2 others guys in March that year and they hired Henry Sherrod who sued the jail for $20,000 which really don't cover one of thems doctor bills but my Uncle has had the same problem but I think Sherrod may have took their case now but Scotty will never b the same again it was by the grace of God he made it but he has no feeling in his rite arm & leg & can only say a couple of words & my name isn't one of them...I think we should all start getting petions signed 2 have the jail stopped cause if not more ppl will b hurt or dead from it & many more families will suffer the loss of their loved ones I talked 2 the FBI & THE ABI WHEN MY UNCLE JERRY DIED but maybe if we could gather a group of ppl theyve done this 2 & go 2gether 2 the FBI & ABI we can save a life or 2 but onething I 4 sure Jason Butler needs 2 b removed from there entirely he has always been crooked even when he was Supervisor he had mased me one night cause he left me in bookings 4 hours whole he was off having sex with another worker named Tracy in the evidence room & I was freezing and knocked a huge knot on my head so he wanted me 2 put a straight jacket on and I told him where 2 go so he open up a whole can of mase on me and shut the door back & waited nearly an hour b4 taking me 2 lockdown so they didnt get caught up in the mess
DeleteIs there any news on how Scottie is doing now? I havent heard and would like to know. I have always thought a lot of Scottie known him since we were little. Prayers going out to him and anyone treated badly by lauderdale county detention center.
