Muscle Shoals City Schools: Bless Their Hearts

We've received two blogs on the Muscle Shoals City School system. We'll start with Leslie's:

“Bless Their Hearts” as any polite southern lady would say, and all southerners know the real meaning of that statement

2016, Superintendent Coach Lindsey and the  Muscle Shoals City School Board gave a whopping salary increase of $850,000.00 A YEAR to the employees IN ADDITION to a state mandated pay raise.

One has to ask, did these geniuses look at their 5 year capital plan to see that one year later they would be whining about having no money “for the children”?

Times Daily, August 29th states there are 6 of 20 projects on the list for 2018:

Let’s see what that ADDITIONAL PAY RAISE of $850,000 A YEAR WOULD HAVE DONE FOR THE CHILDREN:

Year 2018 - $750,000 renovations at McBride Elementary         -   DONE =  $  10,000.00 remaining
Year 2019 - $500,000 heating/air, etc High School                      -   DONE =  $350,000.00 remaining
Year 2020 - $300,000 roof/cafeteria, etc-Highland Park              -   DONE =  $550,000.00 remaining
Year 2021 - $200,000 renovations Highland Park                       -   DONE =  $650,000.00 remaining

4 YEARS - ALL THE PROJECTS DONE -  NO DEBT!   $1,560,000.00 remaining!

ONE MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED SIXTY THOUSAND$$$$$$$$

Year 2022 - 5th year in the Capital Plan - Remaining $1,560,000.00 + $850,000.00 = $2,410,000.00

TWO MILLION, FOUR HUNDRED TWO THOUSAND $$$$$$$$ WITH NO ADDITIONAL TAXES!!!

Add $850,000.00 a year each year to the $2,410,000.00. This would have been a huge amount to completely fund all projects and new construction. Oh, If this bunch of grown children were to have thought more of the children than they do themselves, all the high paid administrators and the extravagant trips they all take. We all saw the pictures of the principals and their wives in Philadelphia, PA this past summer while Coach Lindsey was back home bullying the county commissioners to get more money for their travel and excessive salaries. We haven’t seen one article about Coach Lindsey meeting with the Muscle Shoals City Council about his “needs”. Isn’t that a little strange??????

Financial officer Tapscott said the chances of getting any of those projects done are “slim to none” this year. What needs to be "slim to none“ is the travel, excessive salaries and layers of administrators. WE THE TAXPAYERS ARE FED UP WITH THE LIES.

DID ANYONE on that school board or all those really smart people in Muscle Shoals ever think about any of this in their haste to give more handouts to their “faMily”?
(UH OH - that might have nailed the problem - PAY RAISES FOR FAMILY).

If you can’t do the job coach, financial officer, board members, admit it and go home “for the children”.
