A personal friend of both Dick Jordan and Andy Betterton, Jackie Lloyd Hendrix Jr. is Jordan's personal pick to take over District 2. In May of this year, Hendrix founded the Florence Parks & Recreation Foundation; no purpose is listed in its formation documents, but Dick's son Bill is head of Florence Parks & Rec, so we may assume this foundation is connected in some way.
On the business side, Hendrix is owner of Floor Crafters and All Occasions (Party Pros), plus acting as the agent for Mighty Oak Promotions which does business as Alabama Craft Beer. The latter may no longer be extant since links to pages using that name no longer work.
Hendrix, who resides on Palisade Drive, is also a member of the Shoals Economic Development Authority. This connection might require Hendrix to recuse himself during some key council votes, possibly throwing the matter to the mayor to decide. In May, the decision to pay Party Pros over 2K for chairs and two marquees for the Memorial Day commemoration was questioned - once again demonstrating the lack of transparency in the City.
On the personal side, Hendrix's mother is Carolyn Ayers of Tuscumbia. The 57 year-old businessman was first wed to Rhonda Paige Fanning and is now married to Debra Ann Dombrowski. Both Hendrix and Dombrowski are graduates of the University of North Alabama; however, after looking at Dombrowski's online bio, her profession is still unclear. We won't rule out more conflicts of interest there.
The May organization of a parks & rec foundation combined with a large purchase from Party Pros is concerning. We're still getting mail on Hendrix, and if pertinent new information is passed on to us, we will add it to this bio.
