Sheffield Loses Four More Police Officers

The City of Sheffield has announced it is losing four more police officers. In order to combat some of this employee hemorrhaging, the City on the Bluff will begin to pay hazardous duty pay for both police and firefighters.

Let's see...you work for the fire department and make a certain wage when flushing fire hydrants, etc., but get an extra hourly bonus when you fight a real fire. Okay, that works.

But how about police officers? We assume they get the extra incentive if they go on SWAT duty or attend a hostage situation in almost any capacity. Yet, don't police officers, by the very nature of their job, face danger with even the most mundane call? Who knows when a welfare check can become an ambush?

Just a thought, but if candidates for the police force don't want to work in Sheffield, why does anyone think John Elkington can get real, live investors for Inspiration Landing?
