About That Stolen City of Sheffield Vehicle...

Recently a 10 year-old SUV was stolen from the home of an assistant director of the Sheffield Recreation Department. Where is the assistant director's home? We understand it isn't in Sheffield. The city website identifies the assistant director as Kyle McKinney. Is this the same Kyle McKinney who resides on Puritan Avenue in Muscle Shoals?

In fact, we hear that Ricky Canup, the department's director, doesn't even hire employees from Sheffield. He prefers youths and others from Muscle Shoals. We bet Sheffield is really proud of Canup. No? Send us your thoughts.

We really love the fact that the Sheffield vehicle was described in such detail. It's 10 years old; it was purchased used; the list goes on. Does that mean the citizens of Sheffield shouldn't be concerned that it was stolen? Or does that mean McKinney didn't need to take care of the SUV since it was so old? Or was the description just a little icing on the story to make it more palatable while offering a blurb for the city's frugality?

How's that frugality going over at Inspiration Landing?
