AG Steve Marshall Says No CBD Oil Legal to Sell

Alabama attorney general Steve Marshall has issued his opinion: It's illegal to sell any CBD oil or other products containing CBD in the state. He's gone even further - probably why Ms. Gonce has stated this is a very complicated issue.

According to Marshall, not just everyone can possess CBD products with under 3% THC content. That person must have a documented need. So if you can prove chronic pain, can you legally own it? No. It takes more than that.

As we read it (and we're open to comments), you must have a documented discussion, possibly ongoing for some time, about the need for this medicine. In other words, even if you have a chronic pain issue that is recorded on your medical records, you still could not legally possess the drug unless you had discussed it with your medical provider. Also, some experts are limiting the cause of the pain. Yes, really. In other words, if you don't have seizures/fits or some other similar issue, you're strictly outta luck.

Could you be busted for simple possession if you purchase from out of state? We don't know. We do know that about three months ago we had a package opened and checked by postal inspectors. When we asked why a kitchen implement would be checked, we were told it was done by (computer generated?) numbers. Open every 500th package arriving in a major postal hub? 

Well, you elected him folks. To be perfectly honest, we know of at least two who blog here who voted for him. Marshall has been taking a lot of flack for his actions recently, and things don't look good for him. He may not be the attorney general long. 

If you want to be able to use CBD oil for chronic paid, we'd say you need more than a new AG. The people of Alabama need to make it clear that this small amount of THC needs to be legalized via our legislature. Anyone holding their breath?

Hats off to Steve Marshall for the two thumbs down on this evil weed derivative. Look how many it's killed in Rogersville. Others have been left brain dead...just look at the mayor and the police chief.
