Looking Closely at Augie Hendershot's Ad

We're always amazed at what FB picks up as our "logo." Yesterday it picked up an ad for Augie Hendershot that OB's Corner was featuring. So...we read the ad; let's look at it:

1. 25 years of leadership? How many years has he worked? Did he start out as a leader?

2. Child Death Review Board? He may have been this area's rep at one time, but he's not listed on their list now.

3. Tested and trusted? Who trusts him? Surely not one of his four ex-wives. Tested? We have to admit that some of the citizens of Lexington would test anyone, but we doubt you can compare a town of 800 to a city of 40K.

Oh, well, it's almost Halloween. We'll just consider that ad to be FB's trick for the holiday.

  1. Make your vote count and vote Rick Singleton for Sheriff of Laud. County. Proven leadership of more than 1 officer other than himself ! Chief of Police in a city with more than a caution light at a 4way stop! Married to 1 woman not married 4 times . We have had one smiling faced dim wit in office for 12 years we need a leader ! Vote Rick Singleton for Sheriff Nov. 4th.

    1. Our sources say Jennifer is wife no. five. We have been sent a copy of Hendershot's marriage license application in which he claimed only three exes. Very interesting for someone who runs on "family values."

  2. He is tried and tested in my book! Augie Hendershot has been awesome to my family. He was there and helped us get to my mother long before the ambulance ever arrived when she had her massive stroke! He even got on the phone and told them to get there ASAP as they seemed to be taking his own sweet time! He stood by my parents and visited my mother often when she went to the nursing home after her second stroke. He attended the birthday party we gave her in May and served as her pall bearer upon her death in August. He even cried as he carried my mom to her final resting place. I have known Augie Hendershot for YEARS as I married someone from and lived in the city of Town Creek for over 7 years. Augie was in Town Creek when his son drown and I watched him deal with the loss. He is strong when needed and very understanding. He will enforce the laws in Lauderdale County and we may finally see some results from a Sheriff in the ENTIRE county and not just in a section. Yes, Shoalanda does speak, but mostly all I have seen is garbage coming out of her mouth! I know the back ground of BOTH Shoalanda and Augie and believe me....I would trust Augie 100 times over the history behind the "lady with the little pen and big mouth!" I will be voting for Augie and I ask that everyone please join me! Lauderdale county needs a Sheriff that is in office for every citizen and not just a select few!! Lets see if this gets published Shoalanda!!!

    1. Stacy, you must not be a regular reader or you would know our publishing policy. Second, not one of us here knows your name. It could be a pen name...and that's fine with us; however, we doubt you know any or us by name or sight.

    2. BTW, Stacey, you say you know Augie very well. You say he was with Town Creek Police when his son drowned. Records show he had left Town Creek and was working with Lawrence County at the time. Not a biggie, but we feel you're pressing your friendship with him here.

  3. What difference does it make how may times a person has been married?? How does this dictate they ability to be a Sheriff? Yes, Rick Singleton was over the Florence City Police force which had more officers than Lexington by far, but it was also as crooked as a barrel of fish hooks! One of the many issues that come to my mind was the 48 pounds of pot that "disappeared" under Rick Singleton's watchful eye. Where did it go?? They only recovered 4 pounds and the theft got put onto 2 workers under Singleton, but where re the other 44 pounds? Many, many other issues that came up and was quietly swept underneath the proverbial rug! The least of my concern when I vote for Sheriff is who he is sharing his bed with at night. It is what he stands for and what he is willing to do for our community as a whole and not a "city" that matters to me! Rick Singleton needs to stay in the city where he belongs and leave the county jobs to the county citizens who are willing to help everyone.

    1. It makes a difference when he claims "family values." It makes a difference when he lies about it. BTW, Florence was still in Lauderdale County the last time we checked. If Rick Singleton needs to stay in Florence, doesn't it follow that Hendershot needs to stay in Lexington? You can't have it both ways.

  4. was that Stacy's missing pot, I wonder? might explain her misdirected anger.

why not have it both ways? I like having my cake and eating it, too.
