Florence Planning Commission Members to Get Raises

 

The Florence Planning Commission has signed off on the proposed (Publix?) grocery to be bordered by Cloverdale Road/Wright Drive/Shelley Lane. It will now go before the Florence City Council for final approval.

Just who composes the commission? There are nine appointed members, with Jim Stanphill being the chairman. 

Tuesday's meeting did partially answer one question that arose during recent revelations about the Florence Tree Commission. Yes, according to Mr. Stanphill during a commission business portion of the meeting, the members are paid and, in fact, have a raise scheduled. 

We wonder how the residents of the Wright Drive area feel about giving these commission members more money?
