For those who may be living on Mars, Scott Dawson is a Republican candidate for governor. He's also what the press calls an "evangelical minister" associated with the Baptist Church. All you Baptists out there should now be thinking "why us?"
In the Republican primary, sitting governor Kay Ivey is the one to beat. In fact, we'll just go ahead and endorse her now for that primary, a primary in which not one of the candidates had the cajones to denounce Roy Moore. Sad, isn't it?
When Ivey came to be governor due to the uncontrolled lusts of a once seemingly happily married man (sorry, all you Baptists out there), we assumed she was divorced or widowed. It turns out that she has been divorced twice. Let's be clear, we're not looking into her bedroom and hope she's not looking into ours. While all of us who write here are quite happily heterosexual, that doesn't mean we think anyone who is homosexual can't be an asset to our government. We really don't care that much if Ivey is gay. She says she's not, so that should be the end of it.
That didn't seem to be the end of it for Scott Dawson who had told some associates that he was going to out Ivey. He apparently thought better of it, and his whirlwind "Revelation" tour turned out to be a dud. Hmmm, just like Dawson.

That brings us to the Democrats. We're going to endorse Walt Maddox while we're in an endorsing mood. He'll be in the Shoals soon, so listen to what he has to say. We're pretty sure he'll get quite a few votes even if the only plank in his platform was "I didn't support Roy Moore."
