Daniel Allen Beavers is a member of the Lauderdale County School Board. He's also a local contractor. As of last week, he's in a lot of trouble.
Sources say that Beavers lost his license to do business in Lauderdale County due to selling old air conditioning units as new. Others say he's one prince of a fella and helped many citizens who could not afford A/C. Maybe he's both?
Seven years is a long time to go without a business license. In other words, this was no oversight on the part of Beavers. We predict that Beavers will take some kind of plea and receive a slap on the wrist. The most unfortunate thing about the whole debacle is that he's an elected official...at least for now.

He did a change out on our old unit a couple years ago. When he took the old unit out he recovered the refrigerant as agreed. Then when the new one was installed, he recharged it with the old refrigerant as agreed. When we receive the bill, guess what? We was charged $300 for the old refrigerant we already owned....... of course we refused to pay and what happened?? He threatened to sue us..... at the time I was a single full time father of 2 girls barely making ends meet. Sad sad man.
ReplyDeleteWe also had an encounter with Mr. Beavers. He did some work on our hvac unit...one that he had originally installed & tried to stick us with a huge bill. He would not return our calls, emails, registered mail...nothing. Then has the audacity to sue us for an exorbitant amount. When we went to court he made an absolute fool of himself & perjured himself. I'll never understand why Judge Medley didn't charge him with contempt & perjury...he was so blatant in his deceit. We uncovered that he was working without a license & brought that fact to light in the courtroom, only to have him bluster that he was licensed & pull some piece of paper from his wallet & wave it in front of Judge Medley. He quickly put it away & when we presented evidence from online that he was not licensed & Judge Medley asked him to produce the license for her to see, he could not find it again. It was a complete farce...with folks in the courtroom laughing at the spectacle he was making of himself.
ReplyDeleteWe were ordered to pay for the work that he did do...which was what we had originally told him we would do...but not the bogus charges he tried to strong-arm us to pay but being the self-important, good ol' boy that he is, he thought he could intimidate us into paying his completely falsified bill. He didn't realize we had figured out he was a con man when he wouldn't even answer our calls, emails or registered mail & had kept every piece of evidence that we had.
In my opinion he should NEVER be allowed to work with the public. He should lose his business & his elected office. He is a cheat & a liar.
We have since that time heard from many different sources that have been surprised that we didn't realize he was such a crook. Seems like it's common knowledge in the HVAC community. I'm glad it's finally caught up with him. If he was on fire, I wouldn't spit on him. I hope he is punished to the full extent of the law.
