No, this isn't a prank or fake news. On April 6th of this year, a bill initiated by Sen. Tim Melson was passed in our state legislature. SJR101 officially names bridge BIN 11181 carrying U.S. Highway 72 traffic west bound over Second Creek in Lauderdale County and bridge BIN 20349 carrying U.S. Highway 72 traffic east bound over Second Creek in Lauderdale County, together, as Representative Lynn Greer Way.
The bill goes on to mandate signage of appropriate pomp be erected on this stretch of Hwy.72. Is Tim Melson paying for this? No, we're pretty sure the citizens of Lauderdale County are footing at least part of this bill.
Congressional Medal of Honor winner Don Michael didn't even merit a bridge, but Lynn Greer does? Remember when the City of Florence named a gym after Wimp Sanderson? How did that work out?
