Melinda Morgan? Ms. Morgan is the administrative assistant to Florence mayor Andy Betterton. This is from one of her memos: "I found no consulting firm in Florence as comprehensive as Tatum Design. By comprehensive, I am suggesting that there is no firm in our area that is equipped to handle the branding research efforts..."

So the mayor's assistant made the final choice? It looks that way on the surface. Now we wonder how much of Andy's city business is actually handled by Ms. Morgan.

Tuesday council meeting - Watch on Facebook today. Work session at 4:00 and meeting with public comments at 5:00.

Billy Bell Death - There was discussion as to where Mr. Bell's body was found. Behind Ricatoni's or in a west Florence alley? Technically it was both. The alley (pictured above as observed from Tennessee Street) is 1.5 blocks behind the local eatery. We understand his death is being attributed to a head injury. Unfortunately, these kinds of deaths are not unusual - think William Holden.

Thanks to all those in Florence who attempted to help Mr. Bell over the years. All you can do is offer and follow through. Not all homeless are unhappy in that condition.
