The Cherokee Police Did What?


Several weeks ago, we received a communication concerning at least one Cherokee police officer who was abusing his power in that small Colbert County town. Now we've received a link to a petition concerning unfair citations.

It would seem to boil down to an issue of priorities. How prevalent is jaywalking in Cherokee? Isn't a warning preferable to a non-custodial arrest? Or is it all about money?

What else is going on in Cherokee? Have you read some of those Tishomingo, Mississippi, crime reports recently? It would appear that 99% of the drug dealers in Cherokee have their own personal little route into Mississippi where they make the most money. Wouldn't is be nice if Cherokee police cleaned that up on their end before these miscreants made it to Tishomingo? Just a thought...
