Sometimes a mistake on political or other advertising can be purely accidental; however, it is always important to make a correction. In the past, we have chastised both a Colbert County candidate and a Florence city employee for embellishing their titles. Now we must do the same concerning one of Heather Mize's ads:
In this ad, it's stated that Ms. Mize is both director and principal of the Deshler Career Technical Center. While Mize is the director of that facility, it is part of Desher High School, and the principal of the high school is in charge of discipline, etc. In other words, Ms. Mize is not the principal of anything.
We're glad a Colbert reader noticed this and called attention to it.

Meanwhile, in Lauderdale County, there will soon be a new commissioner in town. We're announcing that we support Todd Nix, but, Todd, you're not an adjunct professor. There is no such thing. You're an adjunct instructor.
That being said, we expect great things of Todd in the animal welfare department. Too long have local animals been overlooked and cast aside.
We proudly endorse Todd Nix for Lauderdale County Commissioner District 2!
