Meet John D. Bowen

John D. Bowen has announced his candidacy for Florence District 2 City Council. Here's a little about Mr. Bowen:

John D. Bowen was raised in Rogersville, Alabama, often visiting Florence in his teens to play pool, eat downtown and visit our parks.

Upon graduating high school top 10 in his class, John D. Bowen attended The University of Alabama Culverhouse College of Business. During that time, he studied Chinese at Feng Chia University in Taiwan. John quickly developed a love for travel, visiting Hong Kong, England, France, Holland, Belgium (for a waffle) and Spain.

After graduating from The University of Alabama, John moved to Georgia. In Georgia, John worked at the heart of the financial services industry. He also apprenticed with the Oxford Center for Entrepreneurs – meeting many restaurant owners and business executives in the Atlanta area.

After leaving Georgia, John D. Bowen moved to Colorado – where he developed a love for mountains, hiking and community. John’s travels lead him back home to Florence, Alabama where he’s developed a passion for supporting non-profits and small businesses.
