After yesterday's blog, we had several communicate that Central head baseball coach Lloyd Broadfoot is out after just 23 months. Before his current gig, Broadfoot toiled at Muscle Shoals High (pictured). Official records indicate the 41 year-old Broadfoot resigned for unspecified reasons as of early June.
There have also been more reports that Josh Fowler will definitely be Broadfoot's replacement; however, that information has not yet been posted. If true, the Lauderdale Board of Education may have hired the less educated instructor, but one capable of double duty. Is this a win-lose?
Many questioned our position that education is more important than athletic ability. Others questioned equating intelligence with the ability to teach. We'll agree with the latter's point of view while strongly upholding the need for more education in our state's teachers.
Since our curiosity has been piqued, if anyone has info on Lloyd Broadfoot's next gig, if any, please forward it to us.
