Families are not now and have never been Ward and June. It wasn't unusual for a younger sister in the 1800s to marry her older sister's widower to help with the children. It's happened in our family, and if you check your family tree, it probably happened in yours also. Flash forward to 2017, we wondered why a cousin of ours was still using her second husband's name after marrying her fourth husband. It turns out that her new husband is her former brother-in-law. At least they live far enough away from us that we don't have to worry about it.

How old exactly is Heather? Did Kayla & Heald have to--as they used to say--- get married? Is it certain that they WERE divorced? Am puzzled as to the obvious lack of "purity" in Kayla IF that is what Ol'Roy was hankering after..... you know, "purity"....
ReplyDeleteWe've read 34 somewhere, but couldn't find a reference immediately. Apparently the "gossip" was that Roy met Kayla when she was separated from her husband and offered to do her divorce.
DeleteSomeone has asked us if Kayla's husband could have been incarcerated. If he was, then he had no rights, so he didn't have to sign off on divorce or adoption. I'm thinking Kayla may have been the first younger woman who ever gave Roy the time of day, at least romantically, so he married her.
