Answering the Main Question about the Red Bay Murders

We've had several questions about the Red Bay double murder/suicide. While we have ideas on several aspects of the crime, we're going to comment solely on the one question that can be answered with official data.

How many women transitioning to male (presumably taking testosterone) commit murder? Note: We don't know if Derick Moody was taking testosterone, we're merely answering the above question.

The only statistic that we could find was 2% between 2016 and 2020. That is not a huge number and could be related to several emotional problems.

We'll add that in checking for that data we found that around 6% of trans men had committed violent crimes over the past 35 years.

Each year, 1 in 20,000 of the total U.S. population commits murder.

We know that some immediate family did not live with the three victims. Our sincerest sympathy to all those affected.
