Jenna Dawn Marion: Locked Room Horror in Florence

She was arrested Friday in Florence as Jenna Dawn Marion. On Facebook, she calls herself Jenna Mitchell, a mother to four daughters, and...a bad bitch. Marion also drapes herself in the mantle of professional writer, but authorities are calling her a child abuser. In fact the conditions of the locked room in her low income home prompted police to call it child torture.

Since 2019, the 34 year-old Tuscumbia native has lived in a 66 unit apartment complex at 1235 Hermitage Drive. One source indicated neighbors have long feared for her children, especially after they were reportedly left alone during Marion's short arrest for Meth crimes last month. On Friday, Florence police and DHR performed a welfare check, with one person describing the scene as the worst in memory.

While Marion uses the screen names "Beautiful One" and "Sexy Smokey," those who encountered her on Friday described a cadaverous meth addict who had locked three of her children away amid bugs, garbage, and human waste.

Just as she had done in October, Marion quickly posted the $16,500.00 bond and was released. Apparently, Door Dash pays well, since this is the alleged abuser/torturer's only gainful employment. DHR has taken custody of her girls.

How long would these children have been locked in the muck and mire of their bedroom prison if neighbors hadn't been concerned? Let's hope this is one instance where our state's child protective agency doesn't do its standard catch and release.

  1. If prior performance is an indicator of future action, don't count on much from DHR.
