This Child Was Abused Twice
While not equal to sexual abuse, the physical abuse of a child is untenable. When our elected officials fail to act against the crime, it amounts to a second act of abuse.
It seems Franklin County resident Raymond McKinney shook his four-month old son until the child developed a brain bleed. While the child did not die, he has permanent brain damage and will in all probability suffer seizures the rest of his life. McKinney was charged with a Class C felony.
After McKinney's arrest, his mother Ruby McKinney threatened the life of her daughter-in-law if she should testify. When the child's mother reported Ruby, the elder McKinney was also charged with a Class C felony. Are these two acts comparable? Apparently Franklin County District Attorney Joey Rushing thinks so.
The two trials are set for early this year. If you feel that Raymond McKinney has been insufficiently charged for his heinous act, please contact Mr. Rushing and let him know that you are in disagreement with his call on this one.

You are a pitiful excuse for a writer. Haughty, puffed-up, know-it-all people who believe they are actually doing something by starting a blog and pretending to be serious writers when it is really nothing more than a sounding board for childish grudges and misleading comments make me sick. It grieves me to my core to see someone like you trying to pass yourself off as a writer. You don't deserve the title or even a means in which to express your ignorance if you have no more sense than what you have displayed on this blog.
ReplyDelete1) How do you know that Raymond McKinney shook his child? Were you there? Are you a friend of his? Are you a priest and he came to confess his sins to you one evening? If none of those descriptions match you, then you have no idea whether he or someone else shook that child. In case you forgot, we live in AMERICA where people are innocent until proven guilty. I sure hope you aren't caught up in a crime one day and mistakenly charged for something you didn't do. Someone might just call for your head even though you're innocent. I'd like to see how you would feel then.
2) Further, how do you know the kid was shaken in the first place? Weird medical conditions pop up all the time. Did you personally take this child to a doctor, have the child examined, and have the doctor (who is actually qualified to make such assumptions) exaplin that the child had been shaken? If you haven't done this or even seen a report of what is actually wrong with the child, then you DON'T KNOW. Don't present information on here that is pure ASSUMPTION and try to mask it as the truth. That's pathetic and unethical.
3) If you are a "serious writer" then you should lay aside childish grudges and write serious articles that aren't based on biased and misleading information.
4) It's people like you who make the jobs of elected officials hard to do. You sit, all high and mighty, cowering behind your computer and false identity, bashing those who have stepped up to the plate and taken on the mass amounts of responsibility it takes to do the jobs you are constantly complaining about. At least these people are making a difference - making a POSITIVE contribution to society. Risking their lives, their careers. Sacrificing personal time with family and loved ones to perform their duty to the best of their ability. What do you do? Oh, yeah... you write this wonderful, informational blog. Kudos.
When you learn to write factual information based on truth, then maybe I could take you seriously. But when your writing is sprinkled with misleading information that looks like nothing more than a bratty child who hasn't gotten their way, it's hard to take anything you say seriously. ReplyDeleteHowever, aside from that, physicians say the child was shaken and McKinney's wife has testified to that fact. That's why he was charged.
He was an innocent four-month old child that could not defend himself; he will never have a normal life.

Thanks for bringing this up. I'm often ashamed of our law enforcement in Franklin County. It's who you know. Who could complain about prosecuting an abusive dad?

You really need to stop trying to find out the name, address and how many children Shoalanda has. Youre starting to sound like a stalker. This is what? The fourth or fifth time you asked? Personally I would be very wary if I were Shoalana. I would consider these as a threat.
Shoalanda blogs things that are already in the newsprint and online. Nothing new, just from Shoalanda's point of view. I'll repeat it for you in case you missed it the first time, Shoalanda's blogs are already in newsprint and online.
If this were my blog and I could get you IP address, I would report you to the authorities.

If "Shoalonda" loves to "reprint" everything she comes across on her blog.......does that make it any more bearable for the innocent family members that my be totally embarrased by the actions of others?
I am being very serious. Please stop Shoalonda. Enough is enough. No more stating "2nd hand" information please. It's very hurtful. Again, the whole point is this. Why? Why do you continue to relish in these type blogs? It' seems I am not the only person who feels this way.
Shoalonda....put yourself in this situation. What if you had a family member that done something very bad. I mean really really bad. So bad that it brought shame and embarasement to you and your entire family. You absolutely abhore what this family member done and you know he or she is guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt. Now stay with me here. You pull up the local newspaper and voila......there is your family member and your family name plastered all over the paper for the world to see. You want to crawl under a rock because you carry the same last name, folks know you are related and it's a total shame as to what has happened. Now please stay with me here Shoalonda.
You log on to your computer and someone has regurgitated the same information over and over in a "BLOG". There is your family name AGAIN plastered all over for the world to see. Again, you know the family member is guilty. No doubt he or she committed the crime of offence. However, you again have that knot in your stomach because your families name is plastered again in a "BLOG" for the whole world to see.
Shoalonda.....you are not the press. You are not a newspaper. You are a gossip column that prints very hurtful things to the innocent family members wether you know it or not. Don't you understand?
The only reason I want to know who "Shoalonda" is to be fair. Fair in the fact that I (we) want to make sure you "Shoalonda" have not had any family members cause embarrasement to you, you have not committed any crimes we need to know about or that you are sitting somewhere in Southern California spewing this trash for kicks.
