Dr. Robert L. Potts served as president of the University of North Alabama for 14 years. Dr. Potts possessed not only a Juris Doctorate, but also a Masters of Law. These post-doctorate degrees are rare and highly coveted.
He led the way to make our local university special. Never once did he put the university above the community good, but sincerely desired the best for both. Even after his retirement, he never stopped working for Florence and its institutions.
Our sincerest sympathy to the family of Dr. Potts. In his memory, let's all strive to be more like him.
