Now Steve Marshall Wants to Prosecute Rape Victims

The last published polls indicate 65% of Alabama citizens believe induced abortion should be available to women who become pregnant as the result of rape. Unfortunately, the state's legislature is not currently allowing that option for these victims.

Now Attorney General Steve Marshall has carried it even farther. If you've been keeping up, you know that the federal government has stated it's legal to send abortion drugs through the mail. Marshall has now shot back that any woman who takes such drugs received via the mail will be criminally charged.

In case any have doubts about Marshall's policy, the U.S. government will sue the state, and Alabama (that's us tax-paying citizens) will be required to shell out thousands of dollars to defend an unwinnable lawsuit. Oh, and in case you're also wondering about this, Marshall has not yet officially charged those state industries revealed to be using under-aged labor. He certainly cares about children, doesn't he?

Steve Marshall Campaigns Against Correctional Incentive Time

Current Alabama attorney general Steve Marshall wants the public to know that he's against a "broken" policy in this state. CIT is actually a law and it was 40 years old in 2020. Is this the best campaign issue Marshall can come up with?

No matter what one thinks of Correctional Incentive Time, these policies shouldn't be news to Marshall after four decades. Nor should these programs be news to any crime victims if local district attorneys are doing their job.

Marshall recently latched onto this almost dog whistle when the family of a sexual assault victim reported to the press that the rapist was being released "early." If any victim wants to know the scheduled released date of any Alabama prisoner, it's online and shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

Here's a screen shot of the rapist's DOC page:

But Steve Marshall thinks this is a pressing problem that needs to be corrected? Why doesn't someone ask him why he hasn't already mentioned this pressing problem during the past 52 months he's been in office?

Marshall or Siegelman/R.E. Thompson School

Some are calling appointed attorney general Steve Marshall a Republican in name only. Whether that's true or not, what is true is that there's an investigation into PAC to PAC transfers to Marshall's campaign coffers. No investigation will be complete until after the election, so Alabama may be stuck with another appointed attorney general at some point within the next year.

Now enter Caleb Moore (yes, ol' Roy's son) and Roy Moore's attorney Melissa Isaak who have held a press conference asking the public to vote for Siegelman. We sincerely hope that no one cares what Caleb Moore thinks. As for Ms. Isaak, she is a card carrying Republican who is asking us to vote Democratic in this race. We agree.

Steve Marshall will not represent the best interests of Alabamians. He was placed in his current position as a lap dog for then Gov. Robert Bentley. Most men would have withdrawn from the race if their wives had committed suicide during the campaign. Not Marshall. What does that tell you?

Do we have any readers with children enrolled at R.E. Thompson Elementary School in Tuscumbia? Are they happy? No names will be used and only discrete comments will be published.
