Usually local law enforcement agencies, indeed all law enforcement, stick together and support each other. That wasn't the case earlier today when a Muscle Shoals Dispatcher chose to criticize the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department very publicly on the Shoalanda Speaks Facebook page.
In case you were out of the loop this weekend, a Russellville man was arrested Saturday in Florence after allegedly committing two sex crimes at the Whataburger on Florence Boulevard. Lauderdale County houses and therefore books all Florence arrests, posting them to their VINE powered app in usually three hours or less. Adonnis Bailey's arrest appeared online mid-afternoon on Saturday, January 25th, listing the charge as Forcible (1st Degree) Rape.
Then around 4:00 p.m. Sunday, or at least 24 hours later, the Florence Police Department issued a press release on its Facebook page stating the charge against Bailey was First Degree Sex Abuse.
You may be asking what the FPD app said. Sadly, it didn't say anything about arrests after Thursday, January 23rd as of last night. Yes, it usually runs three to four days behind, one reason most citizens consult the sheriff's app for up to date information. Thank you, Sheriff Joe Hamilton.
However, not everyone seems to appreciate Sheriff Hamilton and his department. Enter Muscle Shoals dispatcher Jessyca Green who made a highly negative post about the quality of Lauderdale County's app and suggested that its entries were frequently "inconsistent," "incorrect," and "misleading." She further suggested that the public should trust only the app of the Florence Police Department.
We're sure that both the Muscle Shoals Police Department and the citizens of that Colbert County town are extremely glad to have someone of Texas native Jessyca Green's caliber to put the Lauderdale County Sheriff and his staff in their place.
