Chris (Back)Hand(s) a Mean Compliment

Lauderdale County's Gary Dan Williams says transferring staff to an alternative school is a big demotion. If true, Gale Satchel is right that new Colbert school superintendent Chris Hand wants to demote her.

What does Hand say? "It strictly has to do with having her working for the board in a position where she is qualified, where she does hold the background knowledge and the skills..."

Did everyone catch that? Hand thinks Mrs. Satchel has been working 17 years as federal programs coordinator, but is unqualified? Now he wants to send her off to the hell that's alternative school?

One of our favorite readers says the Alabama education system is the most corrupt in the nation. We believe it.

  1. Dr. Satchel's speech at the School Board meeting was a Pretentious Lovefest - for herself. I counted 42 times that she said "I", was rude to several people and convinced more than a few people that the Colbert School System is much better off without her as Supervisor. She reminded me of watching Mainstream News these days and believing what they say is the truth. Her mini tirade about how scary it was when a man (Gasp!), came on her property to give her papers from the School Board, was cheap drama and more fitting to a two-bit actress than an Educator. To say nothing of her unapproved rebuttal after she had finished and Chris Hand made his statement, praising her for her past work and sharing that she had told him she had experienced stress at her job. She spoke loudly OVER the other Board Members and had to be 'called' on her behavior by the School Board Attorney. Shame on her.

  2. Alleged out-of-state travels using unapproved BOE resources, accusations of nepotism, and her highly devisive 'woke' speech on the Colbert County courthouse lawn also come to mind.

    1. Yes, I do wonder if some of her raw anger is due to being limited in her travels now. It's interesting to watch 'woke' folks when they are reined in with fewer 'perks' and have to live like the rest of us. How many people would just be supremely grateful having that overly-generous 6-figure salary and the chance to continue in the profession they chose ? Not spoiled, elitist, braggarts apparently.
