That Ten Million Dollar Muscle Shoals Bond Issue Went Where?

From a Muscle Shoals parent/voter/taxpayer:

A reminder FOR ALL THOSE CANDIDATES heavily supported by Citizens for a Better Muscle Shoals and the Tax and Spend School officials Willis Thompson, and Mike Lockhart who all openly chastised those who can't afford higher taxes and misrepresenting the truth.

REMEMBER THE 2018 VOTE ON A LARGE PROPERTY TAX INCREASE WHEN YOU VOTE ON AUGUST 25TH:

TIMES DAILY  -   AUGUST 2018

Chad Holden vehemently supported a large property tax increase on the citizens in 2018 while denying poor use of a 10 million bond issue by stating in a public forum:

“ I disagree that Muscle Shoals doesn’t have capital needs and is a greedy school system.  You must consider the source of any negative information you may hear.  I don’t have a problem with people expressing opinions because everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but everyone is not entitled to their own facts.  Most of the $10 million bond in question was rightly spent on the new Career Academy but I’ve not heard a word about that.  We are being labeled as not transparent and dishonorable.  As Trump would say, SAD!”

However, Jennifer Edwards of the Times Daily on May 8, 2013.  We see no reason for Ms. Edwards to misrepresent the truth in her article but that will be between you and her to resolve.

Times Daily on May 8, 2013:

In January, the school district began construction on a $5.9 million center for technology adjacent to Muscle Shoals High School.  The school district is using $2.9 million from the bond and $3 million of its capital reserves to fund that project.

 $10,000,000       bond issue
-2,900,000       portion of bond used for Center for Technology
   $7,100,000       ??? - Football ????

Yet, Brian Lindsey, Chad Holden, Willis Thompson and the City Council attacked citizens for asking questions. They used small children as pawns for their large tax increase by saying they need to replace 50 year old  elementary schools while less than 5 years earlier they spent over $7 million of a $10 million dollar bond issue for football.

According to Principal Holden, most of the $10 million bond was rightly spent on the new Career Academy? No, Mr. Holden,  FACTS speak otherwise. Principal Holden doesn’t have a problem with people expressing their opinion as long as their opinion is his.  We do agree with Principal Holden when he quoted President Trump, the MISREPRESENTATION of FACTS is SAD!
