You Don't Even Know What City District You Live In?

In a universe far from here, a local blogger was sent a screenshot of plans to bus in voters to a municipal election. Let's hope whatever the universe, it was merely a joke.

The problem is that some who responded to this post didn't know which district they lived in. Not only did they not know who was running in their district, they had no idea who was serving as their current councilperson. Sad, isn't it?

Imagine this: A water main breaks in front of your home. When you call the water department, you're told someone will arrive to repair the main in about six weeks. Finding this totally unacceptable, whom do you call? The next person on your list should be your city council member, but what if you don't know who that is? Yes, we're sure someone would eventually connect you to the right person, but it's still appalling that citizens have no idea who represents them.

The same people who rant against Trump or Jones or whomever have no idea who serves them locally. News flash - you can have a much greater impact locally than nationally, so why don't you?
