When She's the Abuser & He's the Abused

While we've had some fun with a recent domestic abuse situation, this type of violence should never be acceptable no matter who the aggressor may be. Is one worse than the other?

Certainly, a man can do much more physical harm to a woman than a female can to a male. Yet she can still do a great deal of damage, as proved by the recent incident in downtown Florence.

It seems that the husband in that case had taken out a Protection from Abuse order last January. We're not sure why Melissa Allison was not charged with violating that order, but this charge may be added in any indictment.

No one...no male, no female, no one in between...deserves to take such abuse. Our area needs more mental health programs to address some of these issues, but we're not going to bet our retirement that this help will be forthcoming.

Decades ago, there was a Colbert County murder in which the male shooter claimed domestic abuse as a defense. This happened near the home of extended family of our friend Cassandra Clairage. Years later, Ms. Clairage used the crime as the basis of Murder at the Vilmont. You can purchase it on Amazon.
