Could Danny Pettus, et al., Have Prevented This Death?

This dog was recently found in Lauderdale County:

This dog did not die quickly. He starved to death...or froze...or both. He had no fat to protect him from the cold.

Now the Lauderdale County Commission has a chance to provide real animal services to the rural areas. They're "considering it."

Yes, there are humans out there cold and alone who wish to be. We can promise you this dog didn't wish to be starved and worse. He wanted a happy, warm home. Lauderdale County failed him.

This issue will again be brought before the commission after New Year's. Let's make sure they approve a new method of animal control in conjunction with the City of Florence.
