When you think of a party club, doesn't Indian cuisine come to mind? Perhaps when many hear the word "club," they couldn't care less if Granny's possum stew was the only item on the menu.

We don't care how good the food is, when a club is added to the mix, the eatery probably isn't going to receive a Michelin rating. Add that to a building with a rather dubious reputation and you unfortunately have a draw for a clientele you don't want.

Rick Patel is owner of the Shoals Hospitality Group, as well as being head of the Colbert County Tourism Council. He, along with two others, recently opened the Joker Indian Kitchen at 4840 Hatch Boulevard in Sheffield.

Now, just outside the restaurant/club, three men have been shot including the club's security guard...one dying. How will this affect Curryoke Night? (Yes, it's a real thing.)
