Ten Year-Old Muscle Shoals Track Now Outdated?

From a very ticked off Muscle Shoals Resident:

Lockhart and the three amigos just passed a resolution increasing giving the school system a hefty portion of the sales tax AFTER 78% of the citizens voting NOT to give the school system any additional money. We once again see where MSCS' priorities are - football.

They are laughing their butts off at the ignorant Muscle Shoals people.

This is the 2nd track for Basden after he sold Wooten a cock and bull sob story to get the current one less than 10 years ago. So, a track has a price tag of some $90K A YEAR. Could buy a lot of classroom supplies or a teacher with that kind of money.

  1. Hey, Muscle Shoals....You had a chance to vote in some better City Counsel members, but you chose Sleepy, Ditzy Dingleberry and Frenetic Farce instead. Next time, think. *If you still know how*

  2. TWO THINGS NEED TO HAPPEN:
    1) RECALL every city council member that approved the appointment of the current school board members, and
    2) DEMAND a State audit of the school system.

  3. I have to agree with the first two comments.

The last time I looked, the Muscle Shoals School Budget is at least 8 Million dollars MORE than the entire MS city budget. Is this money dedicated to a specific need, or is Stuporintendent Holden being given carte blanch for a reason (Paybacks for election support)?

Is there ANY the MS school budget accountability?

Who voted against the budget change? Only two council members had the guts to NOT support this change.

Are we getting any value for all those dollars spent on our kids.

MS schools may be a tiny bit better than some other systems locally, but that is not saying much at all. Just who is running the city, Mayor? City Council? or School Board pulling the strings?

  4. The public is not allowed to walk on the current track. With limited use, how is it worn out?

  5. It's obviously a 'perception ussue' with the the MSCS school board. If it's truly 'worn out', with its limited use, an inquiry needs to be made of the contractor that built it. I smell a 'rat'...
