We recently received the following letter (edited):
Have you heard the news? This Saturday, those at XXX in Rogersville will be treated to a rare occurrence: a genuine celebrity encounter! Scott Schwartz, known for his role as Flick in the Christmas classic A Christmas Story, will be on hand to meet-and-greet the good and pious folks of Rogersville.
Say what you will about (the business owner), but he certainly has a lot of D-list celebrity clout.
Do you think anyone in (the owner's) orbit considered the wisdom of paying for a porn industry professional to fly to Alabama, gladhand starstruck yokels, have his picture taken, and assist in the peddling of overpriced confections?
I wonder.
Since we're not overly familiar with porn stars other than reading about those involved in law suits, we weren't too sure what to think. We checked, and apparently it's true.
We're just going to leave this right here for parents and the ever oblivious Mayor Herston to contemplate...
Actually he knows SANTA Land helps local families and it’s not costing us a dime. How’s that you may ask? Friends help each other out that’s what’s so special about having good friends and he’s a good one. As far as Mr. Herston ( who I love and respect ) he’s the mayor of Rogersville and has no connection to Elgin. I guess you may say I’m the unofficial mayor here.
ReplyDeleteNow moving on why don’t instead of stories with gossip and past bad decisions people may have made in life I mean come on no one’s perfect, right? Anyway do like me help make a difference in the world, your state, or community and try to bring some joy and happiness in life and not embarrassment and criticism. It’s easy to do when you’re well known but not so easy under a fake name or alias. I think if you did that more people would follow and comment here. Marry Christmas!
We purposely edited out the name of the business and owner's name from the story sent to us. Good stories? Guess what? We've asked and asked and don't get any. We do think the writer of the letter has a valid point concerning the advisability of a porn actor at an event that (we assume) is mainly for children.
