Breaking: New Mug Shot and Court Hearing for White

Above is the latest mugshot of Casey Cole White taken late yesterday. The escaped felon will be the subject of a status hearing at noon today at the Lauderdale County Courthouse.

After Judge Benjamin Graves finalizes the paperwork, White will be ready for transport to Kilby Receiving outside Montgomery as soon as he arrives from Indiana. Sheriff Singleton is expected to hold a presser at some point after the hearing.

It is not known (or at least not released publicly) who will be present to represent White. It's unlikely, but still possible, that Judge Graves will not make a decision on the escapee's status today.

We'll be following. Please, prayers for everyone involved.

  1. Other than escaping jail/prison on a charge, and maybe another theft of a vehicle (or two), I don't see anything else to charge White. On this murder charge, awful marginal evidence and if he stands up to say Vicki gave him the idea....then the prosecutor and sheriff will look like idiots if they pursue this in court. Let the state handle the rest of this, exit him out of Lauderdale's situation and just ship back to regular state prison. The appearances on TV in the past couple of hours of both the sheriff/prosecutor haven't been a plus-up and both need to retire out of their jobs.

    1. EXACTLY! I actually admire Shoalanda for not falling for the bait that all the news media fell into by thinking that 1. Vicky White was the Shoals own D.B. Cooper when it came to escape plans and 2. Casey White was anything other than a paranoid schizophrenic who went crazy when he was not on his meds and a meth addict. They were neither one the mastermind or desperate criminals they were made out to be. Rick Singleton made a fool out of himself with his press conferences and showed the world how NOT to run a correctional institution. Chris Connelly's office has enough bad marks as sensational losers on the walls of justice as it is. The Shoals area has had enough bad publicity out of this tragic event as it is. We just need to let both this episode and the remains of Vicky White Rest in Peace.

  2. It is sad that Vicky White's life ended in this way but enough already with the exposure of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Dept. in the media. Compared to the press conference given by Sheriff Dave Wedding of the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Dept.; Rick Singleton looked and sounded like Junior Samples from HeeHaw dressed up in a cop uniform!
