Phillip Pettus Says Gun Rights are "Sacred"

"Phillip Pettus will always protect our sacred 2nd Amendment Rights." - Pettus' most recent mail-out

In case you think this article is supporting more gun control, think again. This blog is simply to demonstrate how Phillip Pettus both thinks the area voters are stupid and has no qualms about blaspheming.

What is the meaning of sacred?

From the Oxford English Dictionary:

connected with God (or the gods) or dedicated to a religious purpose and so deserving veneration.

    Similar:
holy, hallowed, blessed, blest, consecrated, dedicated, sanctified

We believe the word Phillip (The First!) was looking for is Constitutional. Big difference. Oh, but you say it depends on the person. You mean if Hasbro ceases production of Boggle, Peggy Hill's sacred right has been violated?

No. Pettus is simply using a word he thinks those less educated of the electorate will swallow. He thinks it makes him sound like a crusader for God's way. If he thinks guns are a sacred right, why isn't our right to vote on issues on which we pay tax? Don't forget he helped take that right away from the citizens of Florence.

Speaking of God, we wonder how He feels about Pettus using the word sacred in connection with a necessary evil?

  1. The RIGHT to defend one's self comes from God. The Second Amendment merely AFFIRMS the right to possess the tools necessary (arms) to defend one's self from attack, whether it be from animals, criminals, or a tyrannical government. People often confuse the Constitution as 'granting our rights', when what it actually does is AFFIRM them, and telling THE GOVERNMENT what it CAN'T do.

    1. "The RIGHT to defend one's self comes from God"........how convenient and; of course, incorrect you are concerning the Divine instruction. That is the thing about you fanatical religious right conservatives (even the reTrumplicans). You trot out your twisted interpretation of God's instruction concerning a topic even though you don't bother to provide actual text. Heard of this scripture JH1961??? Matthew 5:38-40
      New International Version
      Eye for Eye
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’[a] 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well.

  2. I guess you missed the part where Jesus told his disciples that 'didn't own a sword to sell their cloak and buy one'. He was talking SPECIFICALLY about self defense.
