Sheffield Citizens Just Got Snookered for Another 410K

The City of Sheffield finalized bids on road construction for Inspiration Landing on November 23, 2019. Work was to start immediately. That was 15 months ago and work is still ongoing. Of course, there have been understandable rain delays. Yet neighbors of the project tell us many sunny days see no workers at all on site, a site that boasts "No Trespassing" signs.

Now the construction company has told the city that $410,000.00 more is needed for work to resume. And when it's finished? Phase II, the residential component, will presumably have access to all lots. On the Phase I side? Still nothing. It's as if the commercial component is fading into a murky background. Then again, the horse might just talk...

Did you see the TimesDaily article praising Joel Anderson Jr.'s plans for the former ECM property? The daily rag must have been short of space since it failed to mention there is now a legitimate bidding war for the 12 acres of at least semi-choice real estate.

Just when you think Muscle Shoals schools are the hands-down winners of the biggest SNAFU prize, Lauderdale once more spurts to the forefront of dysfunction.

And not just any Lauderdale school, but Brooks - Bad Boy Central for the Shoals. Just think of the mischief students in the eastern end of the county can do when the educational component of the Ag Center is completed.
