There's been a very interesting police report made in Florence. On Tuesday, the city's finest were called to Pope's Tavern, a museum, to break up a small demonstration on the public sidewalk in front of the building.
Regular readers know that we don't support demonstrations. If anyone needed proof of how dangerous they can rapidly become, January 6th should have provided all the evidence anyone needs. So what were the demonstrators picketing against? Museum director Brian W. Murphy.
Now we don't know who called the police; however, in all probability it was someone connected to the museum. Could it have been Murphy himself? Surely not.
After all, Murphy has for weeks protested at the Lauderdale County Courthouse, as well as even protesting his own employer, the City of Florence. Surely, Murphy doesn't think that society has one set of rules for him and another for someone else?
