Will Gambling Come to Frog Pond?

Why do some people believe gambling is morally wrong? The short answer is that the winner receives something he's neither worked for nor received as a gift.

Thursday was the magic day in our state legislature - a bill was introduced that could introduce gambling to this state. If it should happen, just what will it entail.

* Casino gaming at 10 locations

* Statewide lottery

* Sports wagering

* Creation of a gaming commission – complete with a law enforcement agency

Will the bill pass? Those in the know in Montgomery say it will.

Will we then have legalized gambling? No. The citizens of Alabama will still have to vote in November.
