SA Places Three, but How Many Did It Lose?

It seems the Salvationist Church is asking for housewarming gifts for three homeless individuals it recently placed. All very admirable, and we commend them for the placements.

But just how many of Florence's homeless did they lose from the property surrounding their building? Apparently it was enough for residents on Sweetwater Avenue to call the Florence Police Department to evict them from their backyards.

Yes some of the homeless took their city-issued tents and migrated slightly to the north of the Salvation Army building and wound up at private residences, camping out and using the creek for toilet facilities.

We're told the FPD quickly put an end to this behavior, but we have to ask just how the SA allowed that to happen. The incident didn't endear the quasi-religious group to any of its neighbors. Is the Florence City Council listening?
