Well, that story came into serious question Monday. Instead, the evidence from the state, expertly teased out by his surprising legal team, showed something very different. In fact, it appears Mr. Lewis was the aggressor, getting out of his car to confront Modas not once but twice! The entire incident lasted only 5-6 minutes with Mrs. Lewis narrating the events, including both times Mr. Lewis got out of the car. The investigator even stated that he believed physical evidence on Mr. Modas’ car showed that Terry touched the driver’s side door. After that they seem to have gone their separate ways until Christian went back down the road from which he had just come to find Mr. Lewis and his wife in the road. A seriously interesting tidbit that was revealed was that the Lewis’ Jeep had turned around and gone back towards the intersection where Mr. Lewis had supposedly just been threatened with a screwdriver. The evidence then showed Modas veered completely off the road, damaging his car in the process, to go around Lewis who was standing in the road in front of Modas’ car and yelling.
Overall, we’re honestly impressed with just how hard of a turn this story has taken. Perhaps there is more to the original story? Perhaps a man in an unfamiliar place confronted by an angry man during a road rage incident, a word used by the investigator over and over, banging on his window and screaming. Perhaps, Christian defended himself and got away. Perhaps Modas, who has always been pointed out to be from so far away, went back down the road he just came from to find Lewis and his wife in their Jeep waiting on him. And, maybe, just maybe, Lewis was in the middle of the road that Modas so clearly tried to steer away from and instead went through the brush and the mud to get away.
The real moral of the story folks, don’t road rage and never get out of your car. This whole story seems to become more and more of an all-around tragedy the more of the story that gets revealed.

As we always say, our law degree came from Big Lots, but we do have some rebuttal for this leak:
1. Why was Christian slumped in his car in the middle of the road?
2. Why, when arrested, was Modas placed in a straight jacket?
3. Which one of these two men had previous arrests?
4. Even Modas' own father has stated he has mental problems.
5. Why, instead of reducing Modas' bond from one million dollars, the judge raised the bail to two million dollars?
We do agree that this is a tragedy all the way around.
