Hey, Toots, You Can't Change Him

 

We had some public and private comments on yesterday's blog. Most seemed to center around forgiveness for a husband who has strayed to the same team. After all, the loving wife can change him; right?

We have news: the answer to that question is "no." We have no doubt that there are some men who prefer other men who never act on that inclination. We also have no doubt that most who have those inclinations do act on them.

Case in point: If your husband has admitted not only to gay sex, but to sex with underaged males, then he has neither moral compass nor self-control. There is nothing sexual about a 13 year-old boy unless the one doing the appraising is a 12 year-old. 

Alabama's favorite sex offender constantly touts the idea that sex offenders can change. Scientific studies indicate that's not true. 

But go ahead and deny that hubs has done wrong or will do wrong again with an underaged boy. Just because you're willing to forgive him doesn't mean that your employer, a school system no less, should be foolish enough to take a chance on letting you keep your job.
