Has Sheffield Just Gone Bust?

 

With no end in sight for the current Inspiration Landing legal stalemate and interest payments on related bonds due in January, one would think Sheffield would be concerned about a mass exodus of downtown businesses. For any town of less than 9,000 population, losing seven downtown stores would be a major blow. For Sheffield? It's looking like a death knell.

Sheffield City Council meeting was a little contentious Tuesday evening while business owners confronted, yet again, the deaf mayor and city council.

The ongoing harassment on tax generating businessmen and women by Charlie Grimmitt, aka Deputy Dawg, escalated to a showdown at Okey Dokey Kangaroo Court.

Within 24 hours "For Sale" signs were appearing in many upscale businesses in downtown Sheffield.

With all the revenue rolling in from the concerts at Inspiration Landing, the mayor and city council are drunk with anticipation of greatness with no regards for businesses.


Twas the month before Christmas,
