She's just a kid. She posted a comment on our humorous blog about Walmart attempting to be like home. At first M.A., a Brooks graduate living in Tuscumbia, began with indignation over our comments about Walmart. Then she mentioned that we were terrible because of our Facebook profile picture.
At first it didn't sink in. Then she added a message supporting the killing of Jews. We sat there. It still didn't sink in that this girl had this hate in her heart...but she did.
About a year ago, a male reader posted something similar to our Facebook page. We asked him to clarify. Surely he didn't mean what we thought he said. Had we misunderstood? Unfortunately, his reply was that we hadn't.
We cannot make it anymore clear - anyone supporting death to Jews or blowing Israel out of existence will be banned. Will that take the hate from their hearts? Sadly, no. We simply want them to know they and their antisemitism are not welcome here ever.
Praying for the over 240 hostages held in Palestine by Hamas and the families of the 1,400 raped and slaughtered on October 7th. We ask you to pray also.
My granddad was a WWII combat veteran attached to Patton's III Army. He always talked about the pranks and stunts he would pull that would result in him being busted from Sgt. to Private (As a Sgt, he was often tasked with picking guys for patrols. He had no problem with going himself, but hated picking guys that might not come back. So, he'd do something stupid to get busted so he wouldn't have to pick.). He rarely spoke about his times in actual combat, or anything else 'negative'. After he died I asked my grandmother about it. She said the biggest reason he didn't talk about it was because he had helped liberate some of the many Nazi concentration camps in their push to the Rhine. She said that was also one of the reasons they slept in separate beds (PTSD).
