At one time, we thought a no cell phone policy was the way to go. Then year after year and shooting after shooting, we changed our minds.
Now Jerry Hill of Lauderdale County Schools has banished all mobile devices in any class setting. That's not all, if a phone is confiscated, it will be searched. If any little darlings have porn, semi-porn, or plans for an attack on the school, administrators will report the student to the police.
There's also a new policy about vaping, but we sincerely hope that nasty habit is extremely rare in our schools. Now let's all await the parents' responses.
I foresee multiple lawsuits in Lauderdale County Schools' future. As for vaping: vapes are being confiscated from EVERY AGE GROUP in schools today. You read that correctly. Most schools treat possession of a vape by a student on campus the same as 'drug possession'.
ReplyDeleteHow can you allow something as dangerous as a cell phone in a school? Well in the hands of a dangerous 10 year old child anyway! Of course, any "law abiding citizen" can carry whatever weapon they please (no background check to prove this needed), up to and possibly including an RPG, one inch outside the door! Keep your heads in the sand and those "thoughts and prayers" at the ready!
ReplyDeleteOK Mr. Avenger. I'll bite. Please provide verifiable sources for your outlandish, as usual, claims. I'll start painting my neighbor's house while I wait... 🙄
