The Story of a Muscle Shoals Lawsuit - Introduction

 

A Birmingham law firm has written a letter to the city of Muscle Shoals and its police department notifying them of its intent to sue. At the center of the story is, perhaps not surprisingly, Mayor Mike Lockhart. 

Our informant/writer has divided the account into chapters. and we'll be posting these in days to come. In the interim, we'll be posting the results of Tuesday's Republican Steering Committee hearing sometime tomorrow. At that point, we should know if anyone besides Phillip Pettus (The First!) has been eliminated from the list of contested candidates.

On the subject of Pettus, a reader has asked if an attorney could file a suit against the Lauderdale superintendent's bill introduced by Lynn Greer and promoted by Pettus. Our take is the best way to restore voting rights in Florence will be to have the legislature repeal the outrageous bill.
