There has now been enough evidence presented to contest the State House races in Districts I and II.
From the Montgomery Advertiser: (Maurice) McCaney and (Kimberly) Butler said in separate phone interviews Thursday that they did not file the contests. But both expressed concerns whether voters had the right ballots, and that he had initially received the wrong one.
So far, Phillip Pettus (The First!) has declined to comment on the situation. Outside a new election, we're not sure how this can be resolved. We're also unsure how this could have happened accidentally, but perhaps that's the cynic is us.
We will add that District II covers more precincts than we were aware. In other words, not only could the outcome of the District II race change, but District I as well. Those of us hoping for better officials should not give up. Just remember to get your popcorn while at Walmart this weekend.
Hmmm, where is the TimesDaily when you need more in depth political news?
