Why Would Florence Want RATT to Join the Savlationists?

Room at the Table has reported on its Facebook page that the mayor of Florence and two city council members all wanted RATT to join forces with the Salvation Army in East Florence to help feed those in need. Was this idea the product of their own brainstorms or did the Salvationist Church suggest this to the misguided mayor and council members? We're reminded of the time Neil Whitesell wanted to purchase the Renaissance Tower for two cents on the dollar just to "help the City of Florence out."

Note: if RATT funds are co-mingled with SA funds for the Salvationist's homeless kitchen, that's just that much more SA money that can be sent to the group's U.S. headquarters in Virginia and possibly on to the international headquarters in London. Where do you want your money to go? If Chick-fil-A and Nordstrom have stopped supporting the SA, shouldn't you?
