Remember the last unconstitutional anti-abortion law the state failed to bring to fruition? Taxpayers lost a cool 1.7 million of our dollars on that one. Then just a few weeks ago, the State of Alabama lost another such suit. It had been projected that taxpayers could lose up to 2.0 million on the most recent fiasco, but lucky for us it's turning out to be only slightly over one million.
That's 2.7 million in the past few years that could have been used to fund sex education and other programs to prevent these unwanted pregnancies in the first place. But, hey, our legislature just loves to throw our tax dollars out the window on totally lost causes.
Next session, the Shoals delegation is proposing legislation to require all public school teachers to wear garlic around their necks to ward off school shooters. We're not sure if our state needs more attorneys or more psychiatrists.

The great Facebook war on the infamous cabin cruiser is continuing. Just a thought, but no matter if the operator of the cruiser actually left the scene or not, wouldn't it be just a smidgen more important to know which boat caused the accident in the first place? Why has no one even MENTIONED that? Can we all say "deflection?"
