Florence Taxpayers on Hook to Defend SA Grant

At least two who blog here live inside the city limits of Florence, perhaps three. We pay taxes. We live in a state that is willing to defend defenseless positions with our money, millions of dollars of our money. Now the City of Florence will in all probability be defending a lost cause in a suit brought by the Freedom From Religion Foundation.

Why? Yes, we need a homeless shelter, but we don't need one run by the Salvation Army Church. We have received two new expose's on this church and will be publishing them shortly. When we say expose', we mean concerning the local church, not the national organization. Neither one paints a pretty picture of this group.

We also understand that there is a holdup with the matching state funds, so perhaps our money will not be so unwisely spent after all. To all individuals we say, give wisely! Room in the Inn and Room at the Table are excellent charities. Remember them the next time you make your charitable contribution budget.
