Attn: Voters of District 1
1. Do you want an honest candidate for the state house?
2. Do you want an intelligent, educated candidate?
3. Do you want a candidate who will give back, not take money and votes from the taxpayers?
If you answered yes, there is only one candidate to vote for in the May 24th Republican primary.
Republican Maurice McCaney has announced his candidacy for State House of Representatives, District 1.
“I am a lifelong resident of Lauderdale County and a lifelong conservative,” McCaney said. “District 1 needs conservative leadership we can count on. I will fight government mandates and higher taxes.”
McCaney is a practicing Attorney at Woodruff & McCaney, LLC. He is the lead legal counsel against removal of Confederate Monument, Eternal Vigil. Maurice has also been very active in the community for years. For over 30 years his family has led Victory Ministries and Victory Christian Fellowship Church, and he serves as Chancellor for Victory Christian Academy.
“Public service has always been a passion of mine,” McCaney added. “I hold our conservative principles dear. As a Christian, I will always defend the rights of the unborn and support Biblical, moral principles.”
McCaney is an executive board member for Alabama Citizens Action Program (ALCAP), Alabama Christian Education Association (ACEA), and Shoals Sav-A-Life. Maurice is the Southeastern Legislative Director for the American Association of Christian Schools. He also serves as a member of the Lauderdale County Republican Executive Committee.
“There is a swamp culture in Montgomery just like there is in Washington,” McCaney concluded. “There are too many special interests and campaign contributions flowing from Montgomery. The only special interests I hope to represent are those of District 1 as a public servant, not a politician”
Maurice and his wife of 19 years, Lorraine, attend Victory Christian Fellowship Church. He is father to James McCaney II, age 11.
House District 1 includes portions of Lauderdale County including Florence. McCaney is challenging Phillip Pettus in the Republican Primary. The Primary will be held on May 24th.
I taught Maurice McCaney many years ago @ Florence Christian Academy. He has my vote!
